Final teeth

After about three months of healing, you return to have your final zirconia bridges fitted and your bite adjusted.

If needed — follow-up

Occasionally a third visit is needed for fine-tuning your bite, or for any revision work.

Before surgery

Preparing for treatment

  • Give us a full list of your medications and supplements, including blood thinners
  • Stop smoking as early as possible — it increases the risk of implant problems
  • If you're having sedation, arrange for an adult to drive you home
  • Stock up on soft foods for the first weeks
  • Plan a few quiet days to rest after surgery

Things to consider

Recovery and risks

Recovery

Swelling, bruising and discomfort are expected for the first week or so and are usually managed with over-the-counter pain relief. You'll need a soft diet while your implants heal.

Surgical risks

Infection, nerve injury causing altered sensation, sinus complications in the upper jaw, and implants that don't integrate. We go through how these apply to you.

Long-term care

Implants can develop gum and bone problems (peri-implantitis) without daily cleaning and regular maintenance visits, which are also required for your guarantee.
